This homework explores several aspects of pattern formation and their application to biological systems.

  • 1. Reaction Diffusion and Biological Patterns
  • 2. Morphogenesis by the mechanism of Diffusion Limited Aggregation
  • 3. Origins of dendritic growth

Two week project

  • 4. Kirby Bauer Antibiotic Testing

 

Extra optional problem

  • Flow lines in Murray's model of pattern formation

 


 

Choose two problems from 1, 2, and 3. However if your team chooses to do the two week project, which is quite open ended and a fair amount of work, then in addition, choose one problem from 1, 2, and 3.
