Grading

DISCUSSIONS

You will need to participate in the discussions twice a week. These can be exchanges between each other or original ideas. Please make each post at least one beefy paragraph not just a text message or tweet size posting.

LATE WORK

Late work will be marked down by one point a day unless you get an extension from me, any existential reason is legitimate but I need to try to keep you on pace as there is a lot of reading and writing in a short time.

MAKE UP WORK

In many cases you can make up late work or re-write and assignment if you need to. I will give you extra credit for re-writes. I want you to succeed and if I feel you need another chance to work on our essays, I will allow it.

GRADING

It is difficult to define a grading rubric to essays about art but we must. I will look at the coherence of your original ideas, depth of research, analysis and relevance to the course material as criteria for grading. If English is not your first language, please let me know so i can take this into account when reading your work.

So in essence I ask you to put in thought and effort, it will be rewarded.

PLAGIARISM

Please don't cut and paste from the internet. This course has software that will detect material taken from internet sources and you will face disciplinary action.
