These are questions about your thoughts, behaviors, and feelings, concerning yourself and your family since starting college. Please read each statement carefully. Select a response based on how true the statement is on a scale of 0 (Almost never true) to 5 (always true). Be sure to answer every question as accurately as possible.

  9. I am responsible for helping my sibling(s) complete their homework. 
  10. I am the first person family members turn to when there is a family disagreement. 
  11. I am the primary person who disciplines my siblings.
  12. I often help solve problems between my parent(s) (or adult caregivers in my family).
  13. I really enjoy my role in my family.
  14. I am expected to comfort my parent(s) when they are sad or having emotional difficulties. 
  15. I am in charge of doing the laundry for the family most days of the week.
  16. I serve in the role of referee for my family.
  17. I am the person with whom family members share their secrets.
  18. I feel like our family is a team and works well together.
  19. I get asked to complete the grocery shopping more than any other family members.
  20. I serve in the role of translator for family members.

Note: Removed two items “I have time to be happy or sad even though I have to care for family members” and “I have time for play or school work even though I have family responsibilities”
