Description of Measure:

The Short Grit Scale (Grit-S; Duckworth & Quinn, 2009) is a self-report measure of trait-level perseverance and passion for long-term goals. The Grit-S was adapted from the original 12-item Grit Scale (Grit-O; Duckworth et al., 2007). The Grit-O contains two subscales: Consistency of Interest and Perseverance of Effort. Item-level correlations are ranked within each domain and result in the removal of two items in each subscale that are most frequently below the median in prediction. The Grit-S consists of 8 items.
