Smith, Dalen, Wiggins, Tooley, Christopher, & Bernard (2008)
Topic: Coping and Adaptive Responding - Resiliency
Description of Measure:
Resilience is defined as the ability to recover from stress. However, all resilience measures with exception of the Brief Resilience Scale (BRS) assess resources that make resilience possible instead of recovery. While most resilience assessments look into the factors which develop resilience, The Brief Resilience Scale (BRS) is a self-rating questionnaire aimed at measuring an individuals’ ability to “bounce back from stress”.
