Description of Measure: 

The Personal and Academic and Self-Concept Inventory measure global, social, physical, and academic components of self-concept, as well as social anxiety, and it is made up of seven subscales, which are listed below.

Instructions: 

For each of the following items, please respond to as many words as you’d like. 

Items:

  • Self-Regard (e.g., “Most of the time, do you genuinely like yourself?”);
  1. Social Acceptance (e.g., “How often do you feel concerned about what other people think of you?”);
  2. Math Ability (e.g., “Do you often think of yourself as good at mathematical problems?”);
  3. Verbal Ability (e.g., “Have you ever thought that you had a greater ability to read and absorb articles and textbooks than most people?”);
  4. Physical Appearance (e.g., “Do you often wish or fantasize that you were better looking?”);
  5. Physical Ability (e.g., “Do you ever think of yourself as more athletic than most people?”);
  6. Social Anxiety (e.g., “How often are you troubled with shyness?”).
