Introduction to Class2Class/ImmerseU Partnering Platform

As a member of the SUNY COIL Center network, UC Santa Cruz and its faculty have access to the SUNY Community Engagement Platform developed by Class2Class/ImmerseU. We are making this platform available as yet another resource to support those faculty who may have a keen interest in engaging in the COIL model, but who may not yet have identified a teaching partner abroad.

The Class2Class/ImmerseU partnering platform allows faculty to establish and share their teaching profile and COIL interests online through the SUNY network of schools and practitioners. In this way, the platform aims to foster new connections and collaborations between colleagues around the world who are interested in developing and designing COIL projects together.

Here's an example profile page on the ImmerseU platform:

We are aware that many UCSC faculty may already have existing professional collaborations with colleagues abroad, and with with whom they wish to develop a COIL course. For these faculty, additional partnering support through this platform may not be necessary or desired at this stage. While it is not required that UCSC faculty establish a profile on this platform, we do encourage all faculty to explore its functionality and decide whether it may be of use to them, either now, or perhaps in the future, to develop new COIL collaborations.
