>> Choosing Your Filament and Printcore Copy

On multi-extrusion machines, you have the ability to assign the extruder model on the build plate.

Models loaded into Ultimaker CURA are printed with Extruder 1 by default.

To prep your model for a print, you must first configure the CURA file

to include the proper filament and print core for each extruder.

To do this, go to the bar at the top of the window and select both your filament type, color and print core size.

As you’re choosing your filament, be sure to use the filament settings that are within the safe use range for the material,

as indicated in either on the spool itself or on the manufacturer website.

In CURA, this can be found in the advanced setting panel (shown later in this training).

Ultimaker PLA can be used for all PLA materials.

The three main print core sizes are 0.25, 0.4, 0.8. AA print cores.

All are appropriate for all PLA materials and most other materials.

BB print cores are appropriate for PVA (water-soluble) filament.

Each model can be designated to a specific extruder.

Select your model first and then change the filament using the colored spools
