Where do I start?

You found a super awesome color for a project? What's next????

To bring in your own filament, you will need to follow these steps:

1. Complete the quiz at the end of this module showing that you understand the procedures and expectations for brining in your own filament. 
   
   
2. Purchase the filament from your preferred vendor (e.g. PolyMaker, Matter Hackers, B&H, Amazon, etc.). DO NOT UNSEAL THE FILAMENT (the bag). 
   
   
3. Before using your own filament, it must be checked and approved by a DSI staff member. For us to know if it is an acceptable brand and filament type, we must inspect the box of filament. The box is likely unsealed, and that's okay, the filament should be sealed in plastic, DO. NOT. TEAR. IT. OPEN. 
   
   
4. The bag must be opened in the DSI under a DSI worker's supervision. Upon inspection, if we can verify that the filament is acceptable and you completed the filament quiz with a 100% score, we will stamp the cardboard spool, sign it, and provide bumpers that will tightly grab the filament spool.
