P5: Portfolio

  • Due Dec 9, 2019 by 8am
  • Points 9
  • Submitting a file upload
  • File Types pdf
  • Available until Dec 10, 2019 at 11:59pm
This assignment was locked Dec 10, 2019 at 11:59pm.

For this assignment, you should create a focused portfolio of your proudest individual work on P1/P2/P3/P4. You can modify or remix your past projects if you want to improve them a bit before including them. You may want to check the spelling on your artist's statements (or remove your name from the text) now as well. Of all of the Glitch projects you've made this quarter, we want your three favorites -- they don't need to have come from different class assignments.

Expected format for document:

- one PDF file covering three projects

- exactly one Glitch project per page

- no obvious personally identifying data on the page (name, email, student id, etc.)

Each page:

- [screenshots] includes at least three screenshots of your project (trying to show of the variation of experience that can be seen in that generator; okay to zoom in to show details in one screenshot and to leave others uncropped for context)

- [link] includes a working link to your Glitch project page (this is the page with a URL that starts like https://glitch.com/~ Links to an external site.)

- [statement] includes an edited-down version of your artist statement (or freshly written text) that highlights what is important to know about this generator (what it does, how it works, what the user needs to do to bring it to life, etc.)

Scoring:

+1 point for each of [screenshots], [link], and [statement] for the three projects.

Example:

Here's an example of a portfolio page for one of the sample P2 solutions Adam made this quarter. It was made using Google Slides. Google Slides will allow you to save individual slides as PNG files or the whole portfolio as a PDF file.

To get an idea of what might be interesting to include in the text, here is a portfolio of projects Adam prepared several years ago when he thought he might be a professor in a School of Art rather than a School of Engineering: https://adamsmith.as/amsmith-portfolio-2013a.pdf Links to an external site.Perhaps don't take the example too seriously; he didn't get any art-school job offers. He did get this sweet Computational Media gig, though.
