Friday January 19Quiz on third declension nouns: ὁ φύλαξ, ὁ/ἡ αἴξ, ἡ ἐλπίς, ἡ χάρις, and τὸ σῶμα. Finish the Unit 9 Exercises evens. In class we will read Unit 10.
Monday January 22 Read Unit 10 through the description of γένος and Σωκράτης, and learn the forms of the new third-declension nouns μήτης, ἀνήρ, γένος, and Σωκράτης. Learn the vocab, and read the vocab notes carefully. Do Drill 1 (a and b only) 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15. (Note that πάθος works just like γένος.) In class, we will talk about nouns like πόλις and βασιλεύς, and third-declension adjectives, and finish the Drill by doing part c.
Wednesday January 24 Read Unit 10 entire, and do Unit 10 Exercise 1.6, 7, 10, and 27 and Reading C.
Friday January 26 Read Unit 11 but stop when you get to Deponent Verbs. Learn Unit 11 vocab (read the notes!) and do Drill 1 (change aspect, but not number).
Friday February 2 Read through Unit 12 and learn new vocabulary (you will love the vocab notes!). Read through Unit 13 (just the -μι verb part; stop when you get to "Object Clauses of Effort"), learn Unit 13 vocabulary (read the notes!) and do Unit 12 Drill I (only a).
Monday February 5 Unit 13 Drill III and Exercise I.2, 7, 11, 13, and 21. Learn the vocab.
Wednesday February 7 Read through Unit 14, stopping when you get to supplementary participles. Learn Unit 14 vocabulary (read the notes!). Do Unit 14 Drill I. Take the Unit 11 ποιέω Online Quiz.
