Final Game Marketing/Business Plan
- Due Dec 11, 2018 by 11:59pm
- Points 16
- Submitting a file upload
- File Types pdf
Create a marketing/business plan – for your own game concept, or based on an existing released game. While it’s ok to have your plan focus primarily on a business plan for a new studio/start up developer rather than an individual game, franchise or series, please make sure it covers key marketing topics from Appendices 2 and 3 in the book for the course:
- From Appendix 3, your project does not need to include bullets from the “Additional” section at the end of this section. It should cover the other sections of this appendix.
- From Appendix 2, your project does not need to cover “Game Performance Targets” or “Estimated Marketing Spending Budget.” It should cover the other sections of this appendix.
Group projects are acceptable for this final assignment. All students in the group will receive the same grade. If you’re submitting as a group, I recommend that you break up the assignment, with different students writing up different parts of the paper.
This project can be based on the same game you used in any of the prior assignments, and you can include text you wrote for those submissions. Be sure to address feedback you received on these submissions for your final written assignment submission if you do this.
If your project is based on an existing, shipped game from a real game studio, it would be best to have you write about how you would run the business and market the game. If you decide to summarize the plan that the studio used, that's fine too.
The more polished and professional you can make your report, the better – including references to industry data covered in class and other references you find on your own – e.g. ESA, New Zoo, other reference info.
Please proof your work carefully.
